Thomas rented a property from the Earl of Dudley's estate for the years 1747-1769. (3)
This was later taken over by his son Shelah.
In the Cottage Rentals for the Earl of Dudley's estates, for the Rowley Regis area, there is an entry
for a William Jn Garrett renting a 'New Enclosed Pleck' (A plot of ground).
For 1799-1803 this was 1s, and in 1804-09 1s 3d, plus New Inclosure 6s 3d, total 7s 6d. (4)
His last year of rental was 1815.
In 1796 they were living in Golden Green, Rowley Regis. (5)
Hannah Garratt is listed in the Gentlemen's Magazine as aged 100 on her death. (6)
